Experimental design. (A) Contextual fear conditioning training schematic. Rats were placed in the fear conditioning apparatus for 5 min, receiving a total of four unsignaled footshocks. After completing training, the basolateral amygdala (BLA) was collected at 2 and 4 h and compared with experimental naive animals that did not undergo contextual fear conditioning. (B) Performance during training did not reveal significant differences across groups. n = 5–6.
