In this issue, Scott and colleagues (LearnMem 27: 67–77) describe roles for the medial prefrontal cortex and mediodorsal thalamus in an olfactory memory-guided foraging task. This schematic depicts the necessity of activity in this circuit for the correct choice of a novel stimulus from an array of scented cups.
