Reanalysis of data from Bussey et al. (2003). Each data point shown in Figure 2 has been broken down into eight blocks of four trials each. Consistent with the ANOVA reported in Bussey et al. (2003), there is no effect of learning by control monkeys or monkeys with perirhinal cortex lesions in any of the conditions. Examination of the first blocks of four trials in the FA1 and FA2 conditions indicates that the lesion effects are, if anything, greatest in the first blocks, ruling out an interpretation in terms of learning.
